Mild Thoughts

There’s a hole in my heart

That I didn’t know you filled

That never existed

Until you came into my world

A place where old suns

Look to renew

As they dwindle from exhaustion

Another day through

The struggle to rise

Day after day

A revitalizing surprise

When I see your face

Your words fill me up

When I’m all but poured out

But now there’s a hole in my heart
